Chemical Analysis Services
GEC performs chemical analysis services in our chemical analysis lab, helping clients with a comprehensive list of chemical testing procedures and methods.
Chemical Analysis at GEC
The Gray’s Engineering & Consulting (GEC) chemical analysis lab has an expansive range of testing capabilities to meet the needs of our clients. Our highly trained, certified chemistry testing experts perform several different types of material identification and composition testing services, applying years of experience to ensure accurate reporting with timely results. Our chemical analysis services include, but are not limited to:
Contamination Testing
Contamination testing consists of a chemical purity analysis of a client’s product to determine potential contamination followed by more comprehensive testing to identify contaminating agents.
Metal Chemical Composition Testing
Metal chemical composition testing allows the identification and analysis of metal composition. All types of metals can be analyzed through this testing method, including but not limited to stainless steel, aluminum alloys, titanium, superalloys, and carbon steel.
OES Testing
OES (Optical Emissions Spectroscopy) testing is used to identify the composition and properties of alloys, such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, copper, and many more.
Combustion Carbon/Sulfur Testing
Combustion testing is used to analyze and identify the chemical composition of metals and alloys by assessing their carbon, sulfur, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen levels.
XRF Testing
XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) testing is a nondestructive testing method used to identify the presence of metals in a product. XRF testing can identify multiple different elements at once and has a short turnaround time.
Polymer Failure Analysis
Performing polymer failure analysis consists of a thorough investigation that identifies the cause of failure in polymer-based products.
